Have the Life You Want

Friday, March 13th, 2009

May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warmly upon your face, The rains soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This Irish poem is something I refer to often when feeling a bit down. It is a simple but moving message of hope and love. Sometimes we need a little help in out lives to see the good things – especially in this current economic climate.

Wake up every morning feeling grateful for being alive and you can change your perceptions of the world. Go for a walk in the park, ring a friend a day, make a plan for the weekend and buy yourself a coffee at your favourite cafe. Most of all, enjoy each day and know that you can have the life you want.

You Can Get a Life – The One You Really Want – just make a simple start.

Feng Shui Can Transform Your Life

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

A few weeks ago I went to a fascinating talk on Feng Shui in Singapore at the Asian Civilizations Museum (well worth a visit if you are in Singapore). It was delivered by one of the world's experts on the subject, Dr Evelyn Lip who has written a series of books on how to apply the principles of Feng Shui to every aspect of life. You have probably heard of Feng Shui in many different contexts. Most often, Feng Shui is mentioned as a way to move your furniture around in order to achieve a sort of harmonious balance within the home. Although the placement of your furniture is indeed a major aspect of making your home and other places more Feng Shui friendly, there is a lot more to this ancient practice. Feng Shui is something that has been around for a very long time and is based around the harmony of the five elements: earth, gold, fire, water and wood. The words Feng Shui is thought to have originated from village life where wind (Feng) and water (Shui) were the two elements that could impact the lives of the farmers. As with many ancient practices, Feng Shui has experienced a rebirth within Western civilization as people continue to search for ways to strike a harmonious balance within their lives. Feng Shui is multifaceted and at times can be quite complex, but if you simply want to know the basics behind Feng Shui so that you can give it a try within your own home then it isn’t too terribly difficult to start.

Is Marriage All About Venus and Mars?

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Marriage is a partnership and like any partnership it can get rocky.
One of the best descriptions of the differences between men and women is 'Venus and Mars'! The differences become more acute in times of stress, especially financial stress. Money, or lack of it, brings many negative emotions to the surface.

When you are trying to resolve a problem, remember these differences between men and women. We tend to communicate differently and our priorities may not be the same for dealing with the same problem. Men tend to want to solve a problem or give information. They can be quite concerned with details. Women are more concerned with connecting, getting the touchy feely stuff sorted out and getting information.

It seems really difficult to open the lines of communication when you are both stressed but when you "feel the fear and do it anyway", you feel so much better. You will strengthen the bonds between you and battle the world together.

For more information, have a look at 'The Art of Marriage', an eBook written by successful divorce/life coach, Nicola Baume.

Smoothie Recipes – Quick and Easy For You

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Having a healthy breakfast is the most important thing you can do for your body. Starting the day without the right fuel causes the body to be in reaction mode all day. You can't drive a car with a good fuel and you can't expect your body to keep going with goood fuel.

Smoothies are one of the easiest breakfasts you can make. All that's needed is the blender and a range of fruits, grains or whatever you want to put in. One quick wizz and you have the whole family a healthy breakfast.

As you become more experienced making smoothies you will start to experiment. This is so fun as everyone in the family can take turns making their favourite.

Smoothies are great for disguising tastes that younger children do not like. For instance if you have a child that is allergic to milk and doesn't like the substitute, a smoothie laced with honey and full of fruit, like bannana, will be like a large shake the child will enjoy and look forward to.

The Art Of Marriage

Monday, March 9th, 2009

We all get lessons when we are young on many topics that will benefit us as we get older. Unfortunately having a successful relationship or marriage isn't among them. As adults we choose our partners and move into a marriage expecting certain behaviour that does not always eventuate.

We have just brought the Art of Marriage which is the essential guide to marriage for those wanting to make their marriage better, newly weds and couples that really need to do something now. Sensible, grown up language for adults that need a hand.

Try this exercise to share your emotions with your spouse and have them taken seriously:

1. Think of something you want to share.

2.What feelings does it bring up for you?

3.Write down the feeling-describe it.

4.When you feel under no emotional pressure share it.

Financial Freedom

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Are you ready to take control of your life?

Last weekend I attended a seminar on Internet marketing in Melbourne, Australia. It was more than just a seminar. It was a 'love-in'! I joined with over 100 like-minded people listening to Jennie Armato and some great guest speakers. Jennie is an amazing person who has achieved what most of us only dream of. Jennie is a pioneer of Internet marketing techniques and was happy to share with us her secrets. I have been using Jennie's methods for a while and the seminar gave us even more tools to 'move forward to freedom'. Thanks Jennie. Freedom to me means financial freedom and even in this uncertain climate it was great to be reassured that if we take control of our lives and take action, we all can have the freedom to make the choices ourselves and not have someone else make them for us. Some of us are already there but I know many who are not just starting from 'scratch' but are deep in debt.

Get out of debt!  Getting out of debt is a big one! It is possible though and you can discover how to re-direct your life and finances in our great new eBook Simply Living Debt Free
