Global Warming – How to Help the Environment

Global warming is the greatest threat to our beautiful planet we have ever faced. Nobody can deny that weather patterns are changing. I am sitting in front of my computer in my wooliest jumper and it is only April, the middle of autumn, here in Australia. This is not normal and it is really sad that we can no longer predict the weather as we once could. I remember as a child having long hot summer days and a thunder storm at the end of them because of the wind patterns. We were taught this in school, every child knew how those 'southerly busters' happened. But they very rarely happen anymore, poor teachers must be out of their depth now days trying to teach weather patterns.

We can all do something about the environmental issues that face us, we believe this to be a real threat and do all we can to give the environment a break. that is why we sell digitally downloadable products instead of paper products. We believe it is time to move forward and embrace the more environmentally friendly options available.

Landscaping for Wildlife

Now days we are so much more aware of the impact we humans have on the environment. In the past it was not understood how the urban sprawl effected and destroyed wildlife and eco systems. Many animals have become extinct as the result of humans moving into areas, taking over and destroying the native flora to the point that the native animals could no longer survive.

Thank goodness, times are changing and people are recognising the need to cater for the environment and the birds and animals native to their area.

By having a garden that caters to the wildlife you will not only be helping the wildlife but you will have plants that are native to your area and that will grow better because of it. They will be familiar with the earth they are planted in and the year round conditions. If they have managed to survive for thousands of years before you, then I suspect it will be relatively hard to kill them off. So, take heart all of you with no green thumbs.

The point of having a native garden is to attract the local wildlife. To give them a safe haven to live, breed and keep going. Your small bit to save the species.
